Sonali Phogat herself ordered and paid for the drugs, she wanted a “big high”, alleges PA

PANAJI: According to media reports, the ongoing investigation into BJP leader Sonali Phogat’s murder case has revealed that Sonali Phogat wanted a “big high” and herself ordered the drugs and paid for it. ALSO READ: Sonali Phogat was addicted to drugs, family did not know, blamed me, alleges PA

Her associate Sudhir Sangwan in a confession to the Goa Police shared shocking details about the night of her death and what transpired in the hours before that. ALSO READ: CBI sends Sonali Phogat’s iPhone for forensic analysis and data recovery

Sangwan, who was one of the accused in the Tiktok star’s murder case, in a confessional statement to the Goa Police alleged that Phogat ordered MDMA and that her health deteriorated after an overdose as the drugs were either too strong or adulterated with some other potent substance. As per Sangwan, he, along with the other co-accused Sukhwinder Singh and Phogat, arrived in Goa on August 22 and Phogat asked for MDMA in the afternoon because she wanted to get high. ALSO READ: Ten Goan nightclub owners under scanner of Hyd cops in drug-related cases

“I, Sonali Phogat, and our friend Sukhwinder Singh came to Goa on 22nd August to stay at Grand Leoney Resort in Anjuna, North Goa. We checked into the hotel room around 2:30 in the afternoon. Around 4:30 pm Sonali Phogat asked Sukhwinder Singh to get MDMA or any other drugs. All three of us had a desire to get high using MDMA drugs,” he has alleged in his confessional statement given to the Goa Police. Phogat paid Rs 12,000/- for the drugs which were provided by the room boy, who in turn procured it from a local peddler in North Goa, Sagwan told the cops in his confessional statement. ALSO READ: Crucial WhatsApp messages and other data deleted from Sonali Phogat’s iPhone?

The police are verifying the claims made by Sagwan as there is a possibility that he could be misleading the investigation to pass the blame on to Phogat.
