Sonali Phogat was addicted to drugs, family did not know and blamed me, alleges PA in a startling disclosure

PANAJI: In a startling disclosure that could turn the tables in the actor-politician Sonali Phogat murder case, her PA (and alleged boyfriend) Sudhir Sangwan has reportedly told the Goa police that Phogat was addicted to drugs and used to often do drugs secretly. He has said they took a flat on rent in in a Gurugram society to conceal her habit from her family. She wanted to get away and enjoy herself in private, Sangwan is reported to have said in his statement. “Her family did not know about her drug habit. She used to do drugs on the sly without the knowledge of her family. Her family blamed me for introducing her to the drug habit, but the fact is she herself wanted to experiment and try drugs to experience a big high,” Sagwan is reported to have told the Goa police. Meanwhile, E Times reported her PA Sudhir Sangwan as saying that Sonali ordered the MDMA drug worth Rs 12000 in the Grand Leoney Resort at Anjuna and consumed it by sniffing ‘by nose’ along with the him and the other accused Sukhwinder Singh. First she “sniffed” the drugs in their room and later at the Curlies restaurant. She had ordered them herself, Sagwan is reported to have told the Goa police in his statement. ALSO READ: Ten Goan nightclub owners under scanner of Hyd cops in drug-related cases

Sangwan also told the Goa police in his statement that Sonali allegedly had an overdose and she vomited in the ladies toilet. “Her legs were shaking, she couldn’t walk or stand on her own, we had to help her,’ Sangwan said in his statement as recorded by the cops.
