Goa drugs case: Italian DJ Michael Lawrence Steffenoni aka DJ Bobblehead was linked to Russian drug trade

PANAJI: Italian disc jockey (DJ) Michael Lawrence Steffenoni aka DJ Bobblehead who was arrested by the Goa police after drugs worth Rs 55 lakh were recovered from his rented room, had close links with several club and pub owners in Goa particularly in the North Goa coastal belt area, knowledgeable sources claimed. He was also involved in supplying drugs to various dance bars (now shut down) in Calangute and Candolim, sources pointed out.

He is also a sleeping or secret business partner in 1-2 clubs in the coastal belt notorious for their rave, trance and drug-laced parties located in Candolim, Baga, Vagator, Anjuna and Morjim. His peddlers were supplying drugs to dance bars like Posh Nosh at Baga, Mehfil, Devil’s Bar, etc., sources said.

When arrested DJ Bobblehead was staying in a rented room at Assagao village in North Goa district from where the narcotics were recovered.

Steffenoni also has links with the Russian drug mafia or peddlers operating in Goa and was linked with a local group of drug peddlers working in places like HillTop, where drugs were sold.

Steffenoni, 32, was arrested along with one Neil Walter, 28, from the former’s rented house in Assagao in North Goa. Both of them were involved in the narcotics trade.
