Aftab Poonawalla’s father knew of Shraddha Walkar’s murder a month before his arrest: Vikas Walkar
MUMBAI: Vikas Walkar – the father of the late Shraddha Walkar who was murdered by her live-in boyfriend Aftab Amin Poonawalla and her body chopped up into 35 pieces and dumped in forest areas of Delhi, speaking to media persons on Friday, alleged that Poonawalla’s father knew about Sharddha’s murder at least a month before he was Aaftab was arrested by the Delhi police.
According to Vikas Walkar, Aftab told his father that he had murdered Shraddha in anger during a fight – when he came to Mumbai to help the family in shifting their residence – but he also reassured his father that the cops could never get to him as he had taken care of all the loose ends and destroyed the evidence.
His father did not utter a word and kept the information to himself, Walkar alleged.
According to sources, Aftab’s father kept quiet about this information given to him by his son and did not act on it or inform the police, which was his legal duty.
Talking about Aaftab, Walkar said, “Aaftab Poonawala should be given the maximum punishment. The police should also investigate his parents, he asserted.
“Though the investigation is now progressing, there was some delay in the beginning when the Maharashtra police were investigating and the time lost helped Aaftab destroy the evidence,” Vikas Walkar said.
