Singer Rahul Jain rape case: Jain and entire family on the run, absconding since Tues evening

MUMBAI: As soon as an FIR was registered on Tuesday morning at the Oshiwara Police station, against Bollywood singer and music composer Rahul Jain and his family, including his mother and brother (See Here), the entire family is on the run and absconding.

The Oshiwara police who visited Jain’s residence at Lokhandwala found the door locked and the building security told them that the entire family had left the building premises on Tuesday evening between 7 and 9 pm. Rahul Jain’s phones are switched off since Tuesday evening and he is untraceable. Sources said the singer has gone underground and is trying to apply for Anticipatory Bail for his family and himself.

The cops have started looking for Jain and a manhunt has been launched for the absconding singer and his family members whose names are mentioned as accused in the FIR.

Playback singer Rahul Rajendra Jain and two or three of his family members have been booked for rape, cheating, causing miscarriage or forcing a woman to undergo an abortion against her will, and other sections of the IPC.

Police have registered an FIR under sections 376 (2) N (rape with the involvement of other persons), 313 (forced miscarriage/abortion without consent of the mother/victim), 420 (cheating), 406 (breach of trust)  and 34 (common intention) at the  Oshiwara Police Station in suburban Mumbai.
