Politician from South Goa sexually exploiting married woman for last 1.5 years

MARGAO: According to a social worker and aspiring actor, presently based in Goa, a powerful politician fron South Goa, who is flushed with black money from illegal businesses, is sexually exploiting a married woman, for the last 1.5 years, against her will or under duress and threat of blackmail.

The whistle-blower who made the allegations said the concerned politician has even publicly tried to promote his lady love and had invited several Ministers including the Chief Minister for an event organized by the woman, prior to the lockdown in his constituency.

The politician misused the State machinery and spent public money to promote his paramour. Even though the woman was married, the politician used his money power and influence to maintain sexual relations with the woman by promising her (the company floated by the woman at the behest of the politician) government contracts or projects and sanctioned events and projects in favor of the woman’s company only to continue his illicit relationship with her.

The husband and family of the woman eventually (after initially giving the politician the benefit of doubt) got to know about the illicit liason between the woman and the politician, which was under inducement and financial pressure. Her ties with her husband, in-laws and family are on the point of complete breakdown due to the illicit relationship at the insistence of the politician.

The politician had also given the woman a loan in April 2020, during the lockdown and since all business was shut, the woman was not able to pay back the loan and was forced to continue sexual relations him, despite her unwillingness and refusal.

The politician has some intimate photos with the woman and is using them to blackmail the woman, threatening her to put the photos in public domain if she does not maintain sexual relations with him. The same politician has been mired in similar controversies in the past, but is recklessly continuing his wild ways, due to the support of his party and senior party leaders.

The Goa People’s Forum (GPF), which has taken up the case of the victim woman has said it will approach the Women’s Cell of the Goa Police with a complaint. “The victim woman is under severe depression due to the sexual exploration imposed upon her by the politician. We are trying to get her to talk to the police and file a complaint,” the GPF said on Monday.
