Nagoa, Goa-based Tarzan Parsekar controlled nearly 25 drug peddlers, ran an interstate drug network
PANAJI: According to the latest inputs available from our sources at the Hyderabad anti-narcotics unit, Nagoa, North Goa-based criminal Tarzan Parsekar controlled and funded more than 25 drug peddlers based out of Goa, who in turn used to courier drugs to other states including Karnataka, Telangana and Maharashtra.
According to the information available, Tarzan Parsekar was not the front and did not meet the peddlers himself, but had two of his henchmen who were the front and face of the drug network. He was in the background and did not deal with the peddlers himself. He used to issue orders through his two “managers” who ran the network for him.
Though Parsekar has several cases of attempt to murder, rioting, carrying arms, etc., registered against him by the Goa police, he managed to stay away from drug-related NDPS cases as he never came on the radar of the cops.
He was dealing only through his two trusted henchmen and the funds were provided by him to the duo who procured drugs in bulk for retail sale. The peddlers who purchased drugs from his two “managers” to deliver it to consumers who would place orders via the darknet and even on secret Telegram groups, would return double or triple the funds provided, depending on the time period.

Parsekar’s business partner Manoj Singh, brother of the notorious criminal Gajendra Singh alias Chotu, who was arrested by the Calangute police in the Souza Lobo vandalism case and is still behind bars after his bail application was rejected by the Bombay High court, is in the flesh trade and human trafficking business and Parsekar used Singh’s commercial sex workers (CSWs) to sometimes courier drug parcels to buyers in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Telangana.
The women would conceal the small drug packets in their undergarments and were paid well for each delivery. Singh gets underprivileged women from West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Assam who want to make a quick buck, to work in the flesh trade.
Some of them are brought to Goa in the guise of working in the Tourism business and eventually forced into the sex trade.
Parsekar and Singh work closely with each other and Singh and his brother Gajendra alias Chotu used to run several ladies dance bars in the coastal belt from Vagator to Candolim. After Gajendra alias Chotu was arrested and thrown behind bars without bail, Manoj has taken over his brother’s dance bar business.
After the Souza Lobo vandalism and firing incident in December last year, the Calangute police shut down several dance bars, including the ones owned and run by Gajendra alias Chotu Singh, but Manoj is slowly rebuilding the business with Parsekar’s help.
Sources said the Hyderabad police may seek custody of Tarzan from the Goa courts for his interrogation in the same case in which Hill Top owner, Steve alias Stephen John D’souza was arrested and Curlies owner Edwin Nunes is wanted and absconding.
