MUMBAI: According to actor and music video queen Priya Soni who knew Tv actor Vaishali Thakkar for almost 5 to 6 years and who had worked with her, Vaishali was going through depression after her relationship and engagement with Kenya-based surgeon Dr Abhinandan Singh did not work out. She was suicidal and had attempted suicide on at least one earlier occasion but was unsuccessful. To add to her problems, she was harassed by her neighbour Rahul Navlani who wanted to marry her in spite of being married himself. Vaishali was engaged to the Kenya-based surgeon Dr Abhinandan Singh and had also posted on social media about her upcoming marriage. ALSO READ: Rahul Navlani sent to jail by JMFC court

Apparently, she did not want to leave India and wanted to continue with her social work and this was the main reason which caused friction in her relationship with Dr Singh, reveals Priya Soni who knew Thakkar for the last five to six years. In fact, according to Priya Soni, Navlani was also one of the other reasons for the breakup between Dr Singh and Vaishali, after the former got to know about her relationship with a married man. Navlani did not make things easy for Thakkar and kept on forcing her to call off her marriage with Dr Singh and even threatened to make public some intimate images and videos of the late actor. He also informed Dr Singh indirectly of their relationship and claimed they were secretly married, revealed Priya, speaking to this website.

The sudden death of the 30-year-old Sasural Simar Ka and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor Vaishali Thakkar sent shock waves across the country but according to Priya, she suffered in silence for long after her personal life went downhill.

Speaking about her association with Thakkar, Priya Soni said, “In all honesty, I can’t say we were friends, we were acquaintances and knew each other. Our paths crossed many times and we occasionally kept in touch, each of us being busy with our own lives. But I knew all along she was going through a breakup and other relationship problems and also battling chronic depression but was quite secretive about her personal life, particularly her relationship with that married guy. She was depressed and I tried to speak to her a couple of times, but she wasn’t ready to open up or share her problems with me, so I left it at that,” said Priya. Earlier she was in a relationship with another man, her married neighbour businessman Rahul Navlani, who was harassing and threatening her after she broke off the relationship with him. Apparently Rahul wanted her to marry him and he was forcing her for marriage, Priya revealed.

According to Priya, Rahul had with him some personal and intimate videos and photos of both of them together and he was threatening her to release them in the public domain if she did not marry him. He constantly kept harassing and threatening her that he would make the intimate and personal videos and photographs public if she didn’t marry him or got married to someone else.

Frustrated with these constant threats and blackmail, Vaishali decided to end her life and committed suicide on Sunday morning.

Vaishali was part of Tv shows such as Sasural Simar Ka, Manmohini, Super sisters, Vish Aur Amrit and Yeh Vaada Raha and was an active social worker.
