PANAJI: Bollywood model and actor Priya Soni who was in the capital city of Goa recently for a family function during the Diwali festive week was robbed of her mobile phone on Saturday while shopping at a convenience store in Panaji over the weekend.

According to her manager, Priya got down from her car and visited a store by the road side. She put her mobile phone in her jeans back pocket and went to purchase a bottle of drinking water and some other items. She was facing the store, with her back to the road.

After she was able to gain access to all her social media platforms, she even took to Twitter on Monday evening to complain to the Goa cops about the theft and wrote:

While she was paying the store keeper and picking up the purchased items, two youth on a motorbike brushed by her and snatched the mobile phone from her jeans back pocket.

The incident happened approximately about 500 meters away from the Captain of Ports complex, where all the casino offices are and about  a kilometer away from the Hotel Mandovi building, Priya said, adding that there was a petrol pump nearby.

Narrating the incident, Priya said, “before I could turn around and raise an alarm, the thieves had disappeared on their motorbike within a few seconds. Both of them were wearing helmets and T shirts and the entire thing happened so fast, that it was not possible for me to note down the registration number of the bike or take down any details. I was so stunned as I never expected such a thing to happen to me that it took me a minute to realize that I was robbed and that my mobile phone was stolen from my pocket.”
