Bhopal social worker to move Bombay HC in Goa Cabinet Minister sex scandal case
BHOPAL: A social worker (and aspiring actor) Shamita Shristi-Sharma, speaking to news persons in the city said she was shocked and horrified to read about the Goa Cabinet Minister sex scandal case (Read Full Story Here), and has decided to move the Bombay High Court, demanding a CBI investigation into the matter and justice for the survivor. “The video clips and other evidence are in circulation in the public domain in Goa for the last two weeks, yet the Goa Police which are controlled by the State government have not taken any action in the matter. In cases of rape, exploitation of women, etc., the police can take suo motto action, even if the victim does not come forward to register an FIR. In the Tarun Tejpal case an FIR was registered by the State on the insistence of the then CM, the late Manohar Parrikar and the survivor, who was based in Delhi, was provided air tickets by the Goa government to record her statement. Since a Cabinet Minister is involved, the government is not taking any action. I am moving the Bombay High Court next week, praying for a CBI investigation as the Goa Police will not give the victim a fair and thorough investigation,” Shristi-Sharma said. According to Shristi-Sharma, a video clip of the accused Goa Cabinet Minister threatening and abusing the survivor has gone viral on WhatsApp and is in circulation even in other parts of India. At first I did not pay attention to the matter as there are hundreds of such clips floating around involving politicians, but when I saw the news on national Tv, I was really horrified.
