Journalist and publicist Flynn Remedios suffers massive heart attack, admitted to ICCU

MUMBAI: Former senior journalist and publicist Flynn Remedios, who has handled artistes, actors, Bigg Boss participants and models like Arshi Khan, Yukta Mookhey (former Miss Universe), Sherlyn Chopra, Shraddha Sharma, Claudia Ciesla, Rayya Labib, Priya Soni, Dj Jenny D, Gehana Vasisth and several others, suffered a massive heart attack on Tuesday late evening at around 8.15 pm. More details are awaited on his health status.

He was rushed to a hospital and has been admitted to the ICCU unit of a local hospital in suburban Mumbai.

Remedios who has worked with publications like The Economic Times, The Times of India, Free Press Journal, Magna (Stardust) Group, Asian Age, The Sunday Observer (former Dhirubhai Ambani Group publication), Current magazine, Afternoon (newspaper) and many others, over a journalism career spanning over 22 years, started his PR and Media Relations outfit a couple of years ago.

He was also handling social media and digital propaganda for a few regional political outfits and worked with major Indian political parties during election time supporting their digital propaganda machines.

While actor Rayya Labib who was seen in film like “Lakme” and “It’s Over” was shocked on being told about the news, most of his ex-clients were not aware of the recent development.  “I spoke to him only two days earlier. He has diabetes and sugar problems. I know he was not keeping well for the last few months, but this news is too sudden and shocking,” actor Rayya Labib said.

Remedios was also a Technology Consultant and had assisted the Mumbai Police Cyber Crime cell in 2000-2001 in training the Mumbai police in cyber crime detection methods and the use of tech tools like port scanners, IP scanners, system analysis tools and others. He along with his team, conducted system security and IT audits for the Stock Exchange, Mumbai. He was a visiting lecturer in IT, Tech and Cyber Tech at XIM (Xavier’s Institute of Management), Bajaj Institute and other prestigious educational organisations.
