Is Goa UD Minister Milind Naik, GPCC Prez Girish Chodankar’s Alleged “Sex Offender”?
PANAJI: On Tuesday even as most of Goa was wondering who the “sex offender” Cabinet Minister – as alleged by GPCC President Girish Chodankar – was, several sources pointed fingers at Mormugao MLA and Urban Development Minister Milind Naik as the target of Chodankar’s allegations.
While some sources claimed that a councillor had honey trapped the Minister, with the intention of extorting money, others outrightly denied the allegations, saying Chodankar (who did not take any names), was lying and had cooked up the entire story to create a sensational narrative in the run-up to the Goa State Assembly elections, which are likely to be held in February next year. Still others opined it was a personal matter and had nothing to do with the Minister’s official duty.
Senior Goa BJP leaders who spoke to this website, on condition on anonymity accused Chodankar of blatantly lying, saying he has no proof and is just shooting from the hip. This is just a cock and bull story with no proof, a BJP Minister said, countering Chodankar’s allegations.

Meanwhile, Congress President Girish Chodankar who did not directly name the “Cabinet Minister” has given Goa CM Dr Pramod Sawant 15 days to sack the erring Minister.
On the other hand, the rival side (BJP lobby) has accused Girish Chodankar of alleged extortion, stating that Chodankar’s henchmen or “Congress goondas” had demanded Rs 5 crore to hush up the matter.
Chodankar refused to comment any further, saying it was for the Chief Minister to act on his allegations. “Now the ball is in the CM’s court,” he said.
Milind Naik was not available for comment and attempts to contact him proved futile. We will update this story when Milind Naik reverts back to us.

Earlier in the day, Girish Chodankar made sensational allegations, in a bombastic press conference, claiming a state cabinet minister (without mentioning the name) was involved in a sex scandal and alleged that Goa CM Pramod Sawant knew about it and was trying to destroy evidence linked to the case, reported the Ahmedabad Mirror.
Addressing the media in Panaji at the Congress state headquarters, Chodankar also asserted if Sawant did not sack the concerned Minister from his cabinet within 15 days, the Congress would make efforts to put the photo, video and WhatsApp chat-based evidence in the public domain ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to Goa on December 19.
“A Minister in the Goa government, is involved in a sex scandal. By misusing his ministerial status, he has been sexually harassing a woman. When a Minister misuses his status and his power in government sexually exploits a woman, this is a serious issue,” Chodankar was quoted by Ahmedabad Mirror.
“In the photos and the video, the minister is seen in compromising positions with a woman. And the manner in which he is speaking to the woman (shows), he is not even fit to become an MLA. In the audio you can hear how after she is sexually exploited, the woman asks for her right and the Minister says ‘I am a Minister and I can do anything’. He even tells her to go for an abortion, but the woman refuses,” the state Congress president told media persons.
Chodankar also alleged that the Chief Minister was aware of the multi-media evidence against his Minister and alleged he was using the state police force to destroy it.
“The issue had reached the Chief Minister. The CM has seen the videos and audios. He has also seen the WhatsApp chats. The CM has seen all the photos and I was surprised that when such material about a Minister comes to the CM, he continues to protect him,” Chodankar demanded to know.
“The CM does nothing. I was informed again, that the CM was going out of way and is trying to locate the evidence and destroy it. The Minister has committed a sin and the CM has committed a greater sin. The Goa Police is being used to destroy the evidence,” Chodankar claimed.
Chodankar also threatened to put the evidence in public domain ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Goa, if Sawant does not sack the Minister within 15 days and take criminal action against his cabinet colleague.
“You should sack this minister from the cabinet right-away before the Prime Minister arrives in Goa on December 19 or we may be forced to put the evidence in the public domain before the PM arrives in Goa,” the state Congress president stated.
