NEW DELHI: Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal could be arrested any time either today or tomorrow. After the Delhi High Court refused to grant interim protection from arrest, an Enforcement Directorate team swooped on his residence with a warrant. The ED team of 12 to 15 staff and some Central Security forces have locked themselves inside with Kejriwal and nobody is allowed to enter or exit the premises. ED officials are presently questioning Kejriwal and have seized documents and a laptop from his residence.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal’s legal team moved the Supreme Court on Thursday evening praying for an urgent hearing tonight. On two occasions earlier, the AAP while citing the “agreement” reached between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi over seat sharing for the Lok Sabha polls as the immediate cause for his arrest.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had issued summons to Kejriwal several times over the last two months. The Delhi CM had so far refused to attend the questioning by the ED.

The fresh summons issued by the ED to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is an attempt by the BJP to take ”revenge” for the Supreme Court verdict on the Chandigarh mayoral poll in favour of the AAP, party leader Atishi had alleged at a press conference.
