Bodybuilding & Fitness: Fitness, Fashion & Glam Tour AKA Fitness, Bodybuilding, Fashion & Glamour Tour to be launched in Dubai, With Sub-events In Goa

DUBAI: The launch event of the Fitness, Bodybuilding, Fashion & Glamour International Tour 2021-22 will be held in Dubai in February 2022, while the sub-events will start from December 2021 in Goa, the organisers Purple Orchid Films said in a press note issued today.

Goan designer Verma D’mello will also showcase the ethnic kunbi fabric and kunbi traditional Goan garments at this event.

The international launch event will be a one-day affair at a 5-star property in Dubai, followed by the Global Goa Fashion Week 2021, which will be held in North Goa.

With more than 160 designers from different parts of India confirming their participation for the Global Goa Fashion Week 2021, which is a part of The Fitness, Bodybuilding, Fashion & Glamour International Tour 2021-22, the event promises to rock the country and the fashion, garment and apparel sectors after a huge coronavirus induced shut down for nearly six months.

Goan ace designer Verma Dmello, UK-based Goan-origin Raymond Fernandez, Philu Martins, Monty Sally, ace designer Riyaz Ganji from Mumbai, Umair Zafar from Lucknow/Mumbai, among 160 others will showcase their creations at the Goa Global Fashion week.

The 4-day fashion event will be held at a 5-star beach-side property in North Goa near Vagator. There are also bodybuilding and fitness events and pageants lined up, along with the Mr & Ms Fitness Asia and Mr & Ms Fitness Asia Pacific.

Choreographer Marc Robinson is on board and will be part of the team putting together this glamour event.

Bollywood is expected to attend this event in full strength and at least 5 A-listers will walk the ramp.

This will be probably the first big national event after the Covid pandemic, which brought the fashion industry to a stand still.

An exhibition of Indian traditional fabrics will also be part of the glam profile. Kunbi fabric from Goa and Chikankari from Lucknow will be on display at the show.

The Fitness , Bodybuilding Fashion & Glamour International Tour 2021-22 comprises 8 events – the Global Goa Fashion Week 2021, Mrs Goa International Pageant, Mr, Ms & Mrs India International, Mr & Ms Globe in Australia, Ms Bikini Fitness International, besides others.

Verma D’Mello who has showcased her collections at Cannes and various other fashion capitals of the world including Paris and Spain has said that her bespoke garments (for men, kids and particularly new-born babies) made of natural organic, hand-made milk cotton fabric will be available online throughout the world.

Verma spoke to us, telling us about the wonderful, magical fabric which she will showcase at the launch in Dubai: “The fabric is made out of pure milk. It’s called milk cotton and is one of the expensive fabrics in the world, because the production process is very long.

“The treatment of the milk to extract milk casein is a tedious and technical process and takes a long time.”

“Then it is cast into fibre or threads and woven using hand machines. Everything is handmade. In the coloring process, using 100% natural plant and vegetable dyes and other oils rich in medicinal properties, the fabrics are dyed and cured for days.

“This fabric when ready is known as Milk Cotton. There are other fabrics with medicinal properties too. They are known as ‘healing cloths’ or herbal fabric, used more for health than for fashion,” she explained.
