Director-producer Maneesh F Singh to direct film based on Shraddha Walkar’s murder

MUMBAI:  Director and producer Maneesh F Singh today announced in Mumbai that he has started work on the script for a film inspired by the murder of Shraddha Walkar by her own live-in boyfriend Aftar Amin Poonawalla.

Speaking to this journalist, Singh said, “my film will cover all aspects including the ‘love jihaad’ angle. As of Wednesday, I have asked my team to start work on the script and the entire team of Vrindaavan Films is now on the job.” He revealed that the working title of the project is “Who killed Shraddha Walkar”.

When asked about the characters and actors, Singh said it is too early to talk about the actors and who will play which role.

“We have only started on our research. Besides, since it is only inspired by the Shraddha Walkar murder, there will be other angles too. The film will not be a direct narration of the murder story, but the plot will meander and change. Let’s see how it pans out. Right now it is too early to say anything. My production house Vrindaavan Films has only started research and collection of video clips of the jungles around Delhi. While we have started on the script, the art department is scouting for locations for the shoot. However, we will not finalize the script unless the Delhi police file a charge sheet as only the charge sheet will give us the correct picture and the finer details of the murder,” Maneesh F Singh said.
