Controversial Pakistani actress Mathira to be seen in a ‘bold’ Tamil film?

CHENNAI: Bold Pakistani actress Mathira will most probably be seen in a Tamil film as filmmaker and director Maneesh F Singh has decided to cast her in his latest project. Sources close to the director said they have sent out a message to Mathira indicating their intention of casting her as a main lead in the project. It is not sure if Mathira has responded to the message.

The film, the title has not yet been revealed, seems to be a remake of the 1996 Tamil historical film Anthimanthaarai has a few bold scenes and an ample amount of bikini scenes, with a completely re-worked script and controversial dialogues thrown in. The film at best can be called a medium-budget film according to sources in the know and will be completely shot in Goa.

Publicist Flynn Remedios told media persons in Mumbai that the script of the film is ready and the director has met several actors and discussed the script with them. “The project is at an initial stage or what one would call the pre-production stage. Not much is known as yet, but I can say for sure that the producer and director are interested in casting Mathira in a lead role. I cannot share more details now,” Remedios said.

Who is Mathira?

Mathira Mohammad, also known simply as Mathira is a Pakistani model, actress, dancer, television hostess and singer. She is known for her bold item songs and wild images. She has done various item songs for movies like Main Hoon Shahid Afridi. She debuted in Pakistan in 2011 and in India in 2013 with a Punjabi movie  “Young Malang”.

Mathira was born to an African father and Pakistani mother and lived in Zimbabwe for about 18 years before settling in Pakistan.

She is a VJ, model and singer. She said she was not a stranger to the camera and claimed that there is a thin line between “being vulgar and being sexy”.
