Channi’s Nephew Honey Earned Crores On Transfers And Postings, Family Involved In Various Rackets, Sand-Mining?
CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Justice & Human Rights Forum (PJHRF) has accused CM Charanjit Singh Channi’s nephew of earning several crore by manipulating transfers and postings and alleged that Channi was aware of the same and did nothing.
Channi was a silent partner in Bhupinder Singh’s illegal businesses of ‘extortion and money for postings’ said Adv Dharm jeet Singh of the PJHRF.
Meanwhile, addressing a series of public meetings in support of PLC and BJP candidates from Sanaur in Patiala and Banur in Mohali, Punjab Lok Congress chief Amarinder Singh said Channi’s nephew, arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), had reportedly admitted that the cash seized from his possession was earned from illegal sand mining as well as transfers and postings.
Bhupinder Singh alias Honey, the arrested nephew of Channi, “accepted” that he received Rs 10 crore cash in lieu of facilitating sand mining operations and transfer or posting of officials in the border state, the ED had claimed in a statement.
Asserting that he planned to continue fighting for Punjab and the nation, the PLC chief said with security paramount for the border state, his party’s alliance with the BJP would help fulfil their collective responsibility to make India secure.
“We have to save ourselves from our enemies from across the border and not let people like Navjot Sidhu, who hugged the Pakistan Army chief, compromise our security,” he stressed.
Punjab also needs the central government’s support for its economic revival, which the PLC-BJP-SAD (Sanyukt) alliance would help achieve, said the former chief minister.
The state has no money for development, Singh claimed and wondered how parties like the Congress, AAP and SAD plan to fulfill their “false promises” when they are not willing to work in coordination with the Centre.

Congress CM face Channi insults ‘Bhaiyas, Biharis’: Says “don’t let UP, Bihar ke bhaiya enter Punjab”
CHANDIGARH: Four days ahead of the polls, CM Charanjit Singh Channi insulted ‘Biharis and Bhaiyas’ saying ‘don’t let UP, Bihar ke bhaiya enter Punjab’.
While he made the remark, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi could be seen standing by him smiling and applauding.
The BJP hit back, saying the chief minister has insulted people from UP and Bihar. The BJP said Priyanka Gandhi has insulted the people of UP where the Congress is fighting the polls.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal also slammed Channi’s reported remark. He said, “It is very shameful. We strongly condemn comments aimed at any individual or any particular community. Priyanka Gandhi also belongs to UP, so she is also a bhaiya.”
Charanjit Singh Channi is the Congress’s official chief ministerial candidate in the Punjab election.

Congress in Punjab headed for total defeat as Dalits see through Channi’s poll farce
CHANDIGARH: The Congress is very likely to be completely routed in the forthcoming Punjab polls as the Dalits in the state have seen through Charanjit Singh Channi’s farce.
Punjab goes to the polls on February 20. Channi is a three-time MLA from Chamkaur Sahib and became the state’s first Dalit Chief Minister in September after the ouster of Captain Amarinder Singh.
Captain Amarinder Singh who has now launched his own party, is now supporting the BJP.
Congress had hoped the move to appoint Channi as the CM face for the forthcoming polls, will help it gain an edge in several seats by consolidating Dalit votes.
At 32 per cent, Punjab has the largest concentration of Dalits in the country — there are 34 reserved seats in the 117-member Assembly — though they are not a homogenous group.
However, the local Dalit leaders in Punjab have understood that the Congress is only using them for the polls and they will not get any major benefits if Channi becomes the CM once again.
“It’s just a case of use and throw,” a senior Dalit leader said.
The BJP led-Captain Amarinder Singh team is likely to come to power in the State according to political experts.
The Congress has always used the minorities and SC/ST population to its benefit all these years, the Dalit leader claimed.
In fact, the Congress only managed to stay in power for the last 60 years, till 2014 because of its smart management and manipulation of Dalits, SC/ST and minority voters across the country, the Dalit leader opined.
Since 2014, with the consolidation of the Hindu vote in the country and the “use” of the minorities by the Congress over the years, the cat was out of the bag, resulting in consecutive defeats for the Congress across the country.
