Rahul Navlani gets four days additional police remand, to stay in Indore police custody till Friday

INDORE: A magistrate’s court here Monday extended the police custody of Tv actor Vaishali Thakkar’s former boyfriend Rahul Navlani by an additional four days.

Which means Rahul will now be produced in the court once again on Friday and will have to stay in police custody till then.

The prosecution told the court that Rahul Navlani was not co-operating with the investigation and was being evasive and giving incorrect and false answers.

Hence the prosecution wanted to conduct brain mapping, narco analysis and lie detector tests on Rahul Navlani as well as recover additional data from various electronic devices.

The police also submitted that Rahul’s wife Disha Navlani is absconding and is wanted by the cops and they need to confront both the accused after bringing them face to face.

While Navlani’s lawyers objected to the additional police remand, the court granted the cops four days of remand for further investigation.

Rahul was arrested by the Indore police while he was trying to flee the city last week on Wednesday evening.

A reward of Rs 5,000 each was announced by the Indore police commissioner for information about Rahul Navlani and his wife Disha, accused of abetting the suicide of Thakkar (29), who was known for her role in serials like ‘Sasural Simar Ka’.

A lookout circular was also issued to all the concerned airports and transit points in the couple’s name.

The accused couple lived in the neighbourhood of Thakkar, who was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her house in Saibag Colony of Madhya Pradesh’s Indore city on Sunday.

A five-page suicide note was found in the room where Thakkar committed suicide in which she named Rahul Navlani and his wife for harassing her, officials earlier said.

Vaishali alleged that Rahul and his wife Disha harassed her for the last 2.5 years. Rahul also forced her to maintain sexual relations with him by blackmailing her with certain intimate photos and videos.
