Priya Soni signed on for a big-budget Punjabi film inspired by Siddhu Moose wala murder
MUMBAI: Actor, model and music video queen Priya Soni was Sunday signed on by Vrindaavan Films and director Maneesh F Singh for a film inspired by the life and murder of politician and singer Siddhu Moosewala who was shot dead by gangsters.
According to director and co-producer Maneesh F Singh, who confirmed the development on Sunday, “we have zeroed in on Priya Soni to play the main female lead but cannot share more details about the project right now.” READ HERE: Priya Soni reveals why Vaishali Thakkar committed suicide, what went wrong with her love life?
He did not reveal which male actor will play the role of Moose wala but said it would be a famous Punjabi actor who is being roped in for the main lead. He also said the film is not a biopic or based on Moose wala’s life, it is only inspired by the popular singer.
“Everything is being worked out. Right now it is too soon to say anything. We will reveal more details once we have finalized it all,” Singh said.
Priya Soni has featured in more than 100 music videos, including Punjabi, Tamil, Kannada, Bhojpuri and Hindi.
She recently shot for a Punjabi music video sung by a Canadian NRI rapper which will be released next month.
She has also done 4-5 South films, including Tamil and Malayalam projects.
She was in the news recently when she openly spoke in favor of Bigg Boss 16 contestant and filmmaker Sajid Khan and supported him.
She has also revealed secrets about other Bigg Boss contestants like Shalin Bhanot and Gautam Vig calling them fake and unreal.
