Goa Drugs Bust: Buena Vida Shack At Morjim Was Known For Drug Parties
Panaji: The Buena Vida shack at Morjim was long known for its all-night drug parties, frequented by Russians and other foreigners, but it took the Mumbai wing of the NCB to finally bust it.
Continuing its war against drug syndicates, the Narcotics Control Bureau carried out raids at multiple locations in Goa and nabbed three people including two foreigners and one person who is linked to the drugs angle that emerged during the investigation into Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
The joint team simultaneously carried out raids at several locations, including Anjuna, Miramar and Panaji, in Goa and intercepted one Maharaj aka Hemant Sah, a resident of Miramar, and two foreign nationals, according to news agency, IANS.
Sah, a native of Madhya Pradesh, who had been running a shack along North Goa’s Morjim beach for several years had been named as a supplier by two alleged Mumbai-based drug dealers Anuj Keswani and Regan Mahakaal, who have been booked into the agency’s high profile drug probe.
“Hemant Sah alias Maharaj is a native of Madhya Pradesh and was running a shack Buena Vida in Morjim area for the past several years. After locating Maharaj in Miramar area, his premises were raided in the late evening which resulted in the recovery of 15 blots of LSD (commercial quantity) and charas 30 grams,” NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede said.
Sah used to source his narcotics directly from the border areas of Rajasthan, which was sent to Goa hidden in special cavities in transport and passenger vehicles including tourist buses.
In another raid, the agency officials nabbed Ugochukwu Solomon Ubabuko from Nigeria and John Infinity alias David from Congo seizing 41 blots of LSD (commercial quantity), charas 28 gram, cocaine 22 gram, ganja 1.100 kg, 160 grams of white powder and 500 grams blue crystal suspected to be psychotropic substance and an amount of Rs 10,000.
The federal anti-narcotics agency has also recovered huge qualtities of drugs from the possession of the apprehended accused.
The raids were part of a joint operation conducted by the officials of Maharashtra and Goa units of the NCB.
“Three persons including one person who was providing drugs to Bollywood actor late Sushant Singh Rajput have been arrested by NCB in Goa: Sameer Wankhede, Narcotics Control Bureau, Mumbai.
Meanwhile, a Panaji court on Tuesday remanded Hemant Sah, an alleged drug dealer linked to narcotic-angle probe into Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, to 14 days in judicial custody.
“The Narcotics Control Bureau team found him in possession of 0.23 gms LSD and 30 gms charas during a raid in Panaji on Monday,” the NCB counsel told reporters here.
According to the NCB, Shah, a native of Madhya Pradesh, had been running a shack along North Goa’s Morjim beach for several years had been allegedly named as a supplier by two alleged Mumbai-based drug dealers Anuj Keswani and Regan Mahakaal, who have already been booked by the agency’s in its high-profile drug probe.
Two other Africans, one each from Nigeria and Congo, who were arrested by the NCB team in a separate operation on Monday were being produced in court for remand and a trial court in Mapusa is expected to pronounce its order later in the day.
