As Indore Police closed in, Rahul Navlani who drove Tv actor Vaishali Thakkar to suicide had planned to hide in Goa

BHOPAL: As the Indore city police issued a Lookout Circular against businessman Rahul Navlani and his wife Disha Navlani who were wanted by the cops for abetting the suicide of Tv actor Vaishali Takkar, the fugitive on the run who was arrested last night had planned to hide out in Goa for a couple of months till the heat died down.

Navlani apparently had friends in Goa, who own a small resort in Candolim and he wanted to stay there for a few months in hiding after changing his appearance and also apply for anticipatory bail.

He was about to flee the jurisdiction of Indore when he was nabbed by a team of Indore cops late on Wednesday evening.

The cops had formed several teams in order to ensure that Rahul did not leave the city limits and check posts and nakabandis were set up at on all roads leading out of the city.

After a chase , the Indore police arrested Rahul Navlani, the main accused in the alleged suicide of well-known TV actor Vaishali Thakkar, police officials said, adding that Rahul was on the verge of leaving Indore.

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra told media persons on Thursday that mobile phones and other devices which the accused was using were also seized after he was nabbed on Wednesday after some excellent groundwork by the Indore city police.

On Wednesday afternoon, a reward of Rs 5,000 was announced by the Indore police commissioner for information about Rahul Navlani and his wife Disha, accused of abetting the suicide of Thakkar (29), who was known for her role in serials like ‘Sasural Simar Ka’.

A lookout circular was also issued to all the concerned airports and transit points in the couple’s name.
