Was former AP CM NTR’s daughter Uma Maheshwari killed, or did she die by suicide?
HYDERABAD: K Uma Maheshwari, daughter of the late actor-politician and former Andhra Pradesh CM, NT Rama Rao and sister-in-law to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, allegedly died by suicide on Monday as per reports in the mainline media.
Uma Maheshwari was reportedly facing health issues and was under treatment for the last few months. Sources said she was suffering from depression and other mental health issues, besides physical ailments.
While the official statement is that she was found hanging in her bedroom, some die-hard followers of NTR have alleged on social media, that she could have been murdered and her death made to look like a suicide. Most probably, these are mere rumors or social media gossip.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder’s daughter was found dead at her Jubilee Hills residence in Hyderabad on Monday morning in her bedroom, media reports said.
Officials at the Jubilee Hills police station said it was a case of suicide due to depression. The 60-year-old was the youngest of NTR’s children and his fourth daughter.
Former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu; his wife, Bhuvaneshwari, who is Uma’s elder sister; and other family members rushed to Uma’s residence after coming to know of her demise.
Another sister, Daggubati Purandeswari, arrived in the afternoon.
Uma Maheswari was living with her husband, who was away when the incident took place.
A police official told PTI that Uma Maheswari’s younger daughter, son-in-law and a woman relative broke open the door of the bedroom which was bolted from inside after failing to get a response from her, only to find her hanging.
