Malisha Heena Khan Thanks PM Modi In A Tweet, Says Fortunate To Be Living In India
NEW DELHI: Afghani-Pakistan actress Malisha Heena Khan who flew to Delhi from Mumbai on Wednesday morning, specially thanked Prime Minister Modi in a tweet.
Taking to the social networking site Malisha Heena Khan said four of her family members including her Uncle who worked with the Ministry of Transportation, were killed while they were travelling to a safer location within Kabul. She said the Taliban fighters fired indiscriminately at the vehicle in spite of clear indications that the vehicle was ferrying civilians and children and did not carry any arms or ammunition.
She said she was fortunate to be living in India, which is much much safer than other places in the world.
Malisha Heena Khan is scheduled to meet some top-ranking government officials to discuss the evacuation of nearly 7 to 8 of her family members who are still holed up in Kabul and are in hiding.
Her family has prayed for political asylum in India, claiming that since they were against the Taliban, and openly spoke against Talibanisation of Afghanistan, all of them would be butchered and killed if they were found and identified.
She wrote on Twitter:
They were all killed, when the vehicle they were traveling in came under heavy Taliban fire and exploded. We are so lucky to be living in India. Thank you Narendra Modi ji. #Afghanistan #Kabul #Taliban
