“Have nothing to do with alleged extortion attempts of Mallikarjun Pujari,” Bhushan Kumar rape victim tells police
MUMBAI: In rapidly developing case, the 30-year-old victim who filed a case of rape, cheating and criminal intimidation against T-series owner Bhushan Kumar has told the police that she did not have any idea of what the political person Mallikarjun Pujari was doing.
“I only went to him for help with my case of rape and cheating. I have nothing to do with what he did or tried to do or as alleged in the Amboli FIR attempted to do. I do not even know him very well. I wanted help as I was disturbed and devastated mentally and physically. What happened or what he did does not concern me at all and I am not at all involved in his affairs. I am not at all concerned with the alleged extortion attempt,” the victim is said to have told the police in a further statement.
he Times of India reported that Mallikarjun Pujari, a local political leader of Thane district, teamed up with a female model (who has done a cameo in a film) to extort money from Bhushan Kumar. Mallikarjun Pujari had approached Kumar in June 2021 and demanded extortion money and threatened that if the money is not paid to him, a girl will file a false complaint against him for sexual harassment.
Thereafter T-Series approached the Mumbai police and filed a written complaint against Mallikarjun Pujari in Amboli police station on 1st July 2021.
Around the same time, Krishan Kumar of T-Series then spoke to Mallikarjun Pujari and Pujari asked Krishan Kumar to meet him in hotel “The Regenza by Tunga” at 1:00 PM on 5th July 2021. Krishan Kumar met him in the same hotel on 5th July 2021 wherein Mallikarjun Pujari threatened him that one girl will file a police case against Bhushan Kumar and showed WhatsApp messages which were neither from the number belonging to Bhushan Kumar nor from any other member of T-Series team. He also demanded a huge sum of money. Krishan Kumar did not agree to this extortion and told Pujari in no uncertain terms that T-Series and Bhushan Kumar will never bow down to such fraudulent extortion demands and came back. Kumar managed to record the conversation with Mallikarjun Pujari wherein he can be heard trying to extort money by giving the same reasoning.
Furthermore, Mallikarjun Pujari kept calling Krishan Kumar but the latter did not give in to his demands for extortion. After realizing that his nefarious designs are not yielding any results Pujari then conspired with this girl and filed a complaint of rape charges against Bhushan Kumar in DN Nagar police station on 15th July 2021.
Confirming this development, a police official issued a comment to ETimes stating, “Complainant Kishan Kumar has stated that between July 3 and 10, one Mallikarjun Pujari falsely accused his nephew Bhushan Kumar of raping a girl. The girl blackmailed the complainant by demanding money for not reporting the rape to the police and threatened defamation in the media as well.
Furthermore the girl’s friend has threatened to kill Bhushan Kumar which is why the complainant has lodged a complaint against Mallikarjun Pujari.
An offense has been registered under Sections 386, 500, 506, 506 (2) of the IPC in Amboli Police Station, Mumbai,” said the TOI report.
