NEW DELHI: In another shocking news, 27-year-old Aftab Poonawalla who killed his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar and chopped up her dead body into 35 pieces, had even googled phrases like “how to kill a woman and make the body disappear”.

According to sources in the Delhi police – who have obtained access to Aftab’s Google search history archives, which are normally stored by default along with other Google account details, when logged in the particular account, Aftab had googled “how to kill a woman and make the body disappear” at least 4-6 times during April and May this year.

This bit of information is of immense evidentiary value to the prosecution and if recorded and downloaded properly to stand scrutiny in court, will go a long way in proving that Aftab planned the murder of his girlfriend over weeks and it was not committed in the heat of the moment. It was a cold-blooded murder, meticulously planned and researched in advance, including means and ways to dispose off the corpse, without getting caught.

Aftab’s Google search history reveals that he planned everything cold-bloodedly and consciously wanted to murder his partner knowing well that it was a major or serious crime, which could even beget capital punishment and the death penalty. Aftab Amin Poonawalla went to great lengths to destroy signs or evidence of the murder and hid or destroyed the murder weapon or tools used to cut up the dead body.

He had researched criminal trials, importance of primary evidence, requirements of murder weapon, dead body and a motive for the murder during trial and other similar aspects of criminal law. What he failed or forgot to do was to clear up and purge his digital trial meticulously stored in account archives over the last two years.
