Actor Jayashree Gaikwad who accused Sajid Khan of sexual harassment, admits she was also molested as a kid – does not trust men at all
MUMBAI: Actor and model Jayashree Gaikwad who recently accused Bigg Boss 16 contestant and filmmaker Sajid Khan of sexual harassment, while speaking to media persons recently, admitted that she was molested as a young child and that the scars are still fresh in her mind.
The incident with Sajid Khan eight years ago was the second or third instance of molestation in her life and she does not trust men at all, she claimed.

Jayashree Gaikwad was speaking at an interaction held in Mumbai with NGOs and volunteers working with victims of child abuse. She works with NGOs supporting and helping out street children in Mumbai to face up to abuse and humiliation.
She even supports street children with books, clothes and whatever possible within her means and her focus is on the girl child – female street kids who face much greater humiliation and harassment – not to forget rape, than their male counterparts.
Jayashree Gaikwad said she wanted to change her name and use a different name for use in the modeling and film circuit, because the childhood scars were so raw.

She said it was a very hurtful and traumatic experience that will forever remain etched in her mind, because her trust was broken and till date she has trust issues with her close friends.
Child abuse or child maltreatment is physical, sexual, and/or psychological maltreatment or neglect of a child or children, especially by a parent, relative, family member or a caregiver or those in the immediate vicinity of the child or even persons who come in daily or regular contact with the child like a postman, milkman etc.

Speaking at the event, Jayashree Gaikwad said, “Child abuse may include any act or failure to act by a parent or a caregiver that results in actual or potential harm to a child, and can occur in a child’s home, or in the neighbourhood, schools or communities the child interacts and lives and plays in. In case of street kids, there is mostly no caregiver or parent around for most of the time.”
