Panaji: According to a report in “The Goa Chronicle“, former Goa Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Lavoo Mamledar alleged that the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) entered into a illegal financial arrangement through their pre-poll alliance partner All India Trinamool Congress Party for the Assembly Polls 2022.

The Bengal-based, Mamata Banerjee-led party paid Rs 1 crore upfront, which was deposited in a Bank of Maharashtra account, which is 4 percent of the total valued agreed, while the balance 96 percent is to be delivered in cash to the MGP in Goa before the polls.

Mamledar alleged that the MGP “sold” 31 seats to the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) for the 2022 assembly elections.

He claimed that he had opposed the MGP-TMC alliance.

“MGP has sold 31 seats to the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) for the 2022 assembly elections. MGP has also received Rs 1 crore in their Trust Account; this transaction is done via Bank of Maharashtra, that is only 4 per cent of the total deal while the rest will be done in cash.”

He stated that the MGP is now a party of fixers dealers.

Mamledar, a former MGP MLA from Ponda and former Deputy Superintendent of Police, had joined the TMC on September 29. He was among the first ten leaders from Goa to join along with former Chief Minister and now TMC’s Rajya Sabha MP, Luizinho Faleiro.

“I had joined the AITC with the hope that it would bring better days for Goa and Goans. But it is unfortunate that the AITC has not understood Goa and Goans,” said Mamledar.

He added that he had thought that the AITC was a secular party, but the AITC tried to divide Goans on the basis of religion by aligning with Sudin Dhavalikar.

“AITC moves to polarise Hindu votes towards MGP and Catholic votes towards AITC which is purely communal in nature”, he had said.

Mamledar also claimed that they would not allow AITC and the company managing AITC Goa – the Prashant Kishor-led IPAC to break the state’s secular fabric and we will go out of our way to save goemkarponn.

“The TMC has now started accepting scrap, and they have been fooling people, I say that TMC will not be able to win even one seat in Goa”, Lavoo added.

“Recently, it launched the Griha Laxmi Scheme, claiming it would give Rs 5, 000 to one woman per family every month in the state. But we would like to remind you that in West Bengal, the AITC government’s scheme by named Laxmi Bhandar Scheme gives only RS 500 to women every month, and has never been implemented,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mamledar also claimed that no seat-sharing was done in the alliance, and yet MGP announced Sudin Dhavalikar would be the Chief Ministerial face for the polls.
