PANAJI: Goa Cabinet member and Arts and Culture Minister Govind Gaude may be sacked in the coming weeks as several questions are being asked within the government regarding the tendering process involved for the renovation work of the Kala Academy at Panaji.

Earlier in the day, a BJP spokesperson from South Goa also raked up the matter on social media, asking the Goa CM the reason for ‘taking such a route’.

While this may be an excuse to relieve Gaude of the cabinet  post, with new entrants from the Congress waiting in line for a Cabinet berth, the internal competition within the party has reached a nadir.

In what may be considered a major embarrassment to the Dr Pramod Sawant government in Goa, one of its own party spokespersons in the state raised doubts about the tendering process of the Kala Academy renovation work and working of the government and questioned its fight against corruption.

According to an India Today report, BJP spokesperson Savio Rodrigues took to Twitter today and questioned the Goa government on the issue of the allocation of Rs 50 crore for the renovation work of the Kala Academy, without following any tendering process.

It is well-known in the coastal state, the Rodrigues is the mouthpiece for at least three top BJP leaders and his outpouring on the social media platform is obviously on the orders of some very powerful leaders.

Rodrigues wrote on Twitter, “A minister in the Goa government allots work on a renovation project worth Rs 50 crores without a tendering process. Claims Shah Jahan did not tender for Taj Mahal. Claims government approved without tendering. Vigilance raises serious question. Why walk this path @DrPramodPSawant?”
