Singer KK ignored signs of heart attack, went ahead with performance in spite of tell-tale symptoms
MUMBAI: Popular Bollywood singer KK who left for his heavenly abode on May 31st, leaving everyone heartbroken has clear signs of heart disease over the last few months, but ignored the same, said a doctor familiar with the health history of the late singer.
KK had experienced chest pain, profuse sweating, breathlessness and similar symptoms over the last few weeks, but did not get himself checked. He ignored the symptoms, taking them to be due to exertion and extreme heat or hot weather.
Even during his last performance at Kolkata, the singer was sweating profusely, was extremely tired and experiencing chest and body pain, but continued with the show. Had he to walk off the stage and rush himself to a hospital, even an hour earlier, he could have been saved, a doctor said.
According to ETimes, the final post-mortem and chemical analysis reports of the late singer cited ‘myocardial infarction’ as the cause of the singer’s death.
While stating that the singer had blockages in the coronary artery, the final post-mortem report revealed that the cholesterol accumulation narrowed the posterior intramuscular artery of KK to a great extent which affected the pumping of blood by the heart.
On condition of anonymity, a source in Kolkata Police said that though they had taken up the investigation by filing an FIR relating to unnatural death, the final post-mortem reports and chemical analysis reports have now ruled out the theory or suggestions of any foul-play.
