Rs 11.50 lakh cash seized from Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut’s residence in Mumbai
MUMBAI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized Rs 11.50 lakh cash from Sanjay Raut’s residence. Raut was taken to the ED office at around 5 pm Sunday and is likely to be placed under arrest.
The ED officials on Sunday detained Sanjay Raut following raid at his residence in connection with the Patra Chawl land scam case. ALSO READ: What is Patra Chawl land case and how is Sanjay Raut involved in the Patra Chawl scam?
Raut was being investigated by the ED in connection with a money laundering case linked to alleged irregularities involving the re-development of a Mumbai ‘chawl.’
Earlier, the probe agency had attached assets worth over Rs 11.15 crore of Sanjay Raut’s wife, Varsha, and two of his associates as part of their investigation in the case.
Raut had skipped ED summons twice in the twice and said that due to the ongoing Parliament session, he could appear only after August 7. (Read More Here)
