Journalist files extortion complaint against Shivaji Koli aka Shivaji BMC aka Nitesh Jadhav aka Nitesh Kamble

MUMBAI: A senior journalist today filed a written complaint with the Mumbai police against one Shivaji Koli aka Shivaji BMC aka Nitesh Jadhav aka Nitesh Kamble alleging that the accused person threatened him with dire consequences and threatened to kill him. He has also accused him of extortion. The complaint was submitted to the office of the Mumbai Police commissioner and other senior police officials. As reported earlier, a BMC employee – or someone claiming to be associated with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner, one Shivaji Koli, has been terrorizing shopkeepers and hawkers in the Malad, Charkop and Kandivli belt in Mumbai’s north western suburbs for the last year, by stating that he allegedly knows the BMC commissioner (and administrator) personally and can get any work done (or undone) in a jiffy.

He also threatens people and extorts money from them by claiming that his brother is in the police force and works at the Charkop police station.

It is not known where the said individual Shivaji Koli resides but he is active in the north western suburbs of Mumbai from Malad to Borivali. Sources said he lives in the Marve area, but we could not confirm this.

His main activity includes collecting hafta from hawkers and protection money from local businessmen, under threat of punitive BMC and police action.
