IMD issues red alert for Goa, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Central Maharashtra

Mumbai: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a red alert for Konkan, Goa and central Maharashtra, and an orange alert warning for Gujarat, parts of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Assam, as very to heavy rain was predicted in the area.

It has issued an orange alert for Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir, and yellow alert for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh for Tuesday (July 13).

The Met has issued a red ‘alert’ for Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Kolhapur, Satara district of Maharashtra for today.

The Meteorological Department has said that extremely heavy rains at isolated places are expected in these districts today.

For the next three to four days, an orange ‘alert’ has been issued for almost all districts of Konkan and Pune region.
