NEW DELHI: Producer, director and actor Gehana Vasisth was on cloud nine after the Supreme Court of India granted her regular bail (after a long legal fight) in a trafficking and flesh trade case.

She was seen in a video dancing in the rain at a shooting venue at Lonavla near Mumbai.

Gehana had to move the Supreme Court after the Bombay High Court had earlier rejected her bail in a series of cases filed by the Mumbai police Crime Branch at different police stations in Mumbai. It was known as the Mumbai porn racket matter or the Raj Kundra case, after Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty’s businessman husband Raj Kundra was also arrested by the Mumbai police in the matter.

Gehana was on interim bail while the court heard her application in detail. Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai Crime Branch on July 19, 2021 and had to spend nearly two months at the Arthur Road jail. Kundra along with others are accused of threatening struggling actresses and making obscene content and uploading it on an app or OTT called Hotshots.

After Gehana’s bail was rejected by the trial court, she applied before the Sessions court and then the Bombay High court. But her applications were rejected at both the stages. She then moved the Supreme court, appealing against the order of the High Court.
