Conman Shivaji Koli aka Shivaji BMC aka Nilesh Kamble dupes several job aspirants in Mumbai promising BMC jobs

MUMBAI: According to reliable sources, a conman operating in the western suburbs of Mumbai, using different names and identities like Shivaji Koli, Shivaji BMC, Nilesh Kamble and Nilesh Jadhav while posing as a BMC employee and a political worker has allegedly duped several job aspirants in the suburbs.

Our sources claim more than 50 to 70 people could have been cheated of a total sum of nearly Rs 80 to 90 lakh. The numbers could be much higher if all the skeletons are unearthed and people come forward with their complaints.

Koli alias Kamble, whose real name is Nilesh Kamble, (but represents himself as Shivaji Koli or Shivaji BMC) was arrested last week in a molestation case registered at the Charkop Police Station and post that FIR at least four complainants have come forward narrating their grievances against him.

The Goregaon East cops are investigating another complaint of a job aspirant who was swindled of Rs 3 lakh. Unfortunately, the victims are mostly middle class salaried persons who are more interested in recovering their monies and prefer to wait as Koli alias Kamble has been promising them for several months that he will return their money.

Kamble also managed to get a car loan on a third-party name and failed to pay the EMIs. According to our information, Kamble has purchased 3 vehicles on loans taken on third-party names and has failed to pay the EMIs. He would rent out the vehicles to travel agencies and earn money in the process, but would not pay the EMIs due to the loan companies, thus putting the original loan takers (in whose names the vehicle loans were taken) at risk of legal action.

Kamble presented himself as a BMC employee to prospective victims to create an impression and even flaunted several fake BMC ID cards.

On Friday last, the Charkop cops registered FIR No. 0830 of 2022 u/s section 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman), 323 (causing hurt), 504 and 506 (giving threats) of the Indian Penal code against the accused Shivaji Koli aka Shivaji BMC aka Nilesh Kamble aka Nilesh Jadhav, late on Friday evening.

The name of the victim has been withheld as per Supreme Court of India guidelines concerning crimes against women. The accused is also said to have attempted to rape the victim on several occasions by blackmailing her with certain personal photos, taking advantage of her financial status as a single mother.
