Delhi fridge murder: Bulk drugs supplier from Manali claims Aftab Poonawalla regularly sourced high-quality weed from him

NEW DELHI: A bulk drugs supplier from Manali in Himachal Pradesh, Rajesh Maru Saha has alleged that Aftab Amin Poonawalla – the man who murdered his live-in girlfriend Shraddha Walkar, and cut up her body into 35 pieces, used to regularly source high-quality weed or cannabis (ganja) in larger quantities from his network of suppliers.

“I remember his face clearly, although he gave me a different name. He was at first dealing with one of my boys. But then he started asking for larger quantities and bigger discounts. He wanted to become a sub-dealer or agent. He claimed he had lots of clients in Delhi and Mumbai as well and he would take care of transportation. All the risks involved in transportation were his to bear. He was asking for a huge discount on the product and agreed to pay cash upfront and said he will take care of everything else,” Saha told our contact in Manali.

Saha told him to do some more purchases for a month or two and later they would mutually decide on the pricing.

According to our Manali contact, Saha was selling Poonawalla weed or cannabis as well as MD. Saha claimed that once Aftab met him with his “wife” Shraddha Walkar and they both (Aftab and Shraddha) smoked “pure Manali weed” which Saha offered as a sample or tester.

Aftab wanted to become a bulk drugs supplier for Delhi, but Saha cautioned him to go slow and build his contacts and network slowly.

According to the Delhi police, Aftab has confessed to being addicted to marijuana and smoked 4 to 8 rolled cigarettes a day. It remains to be seen now, if along with murder and destroying evidence, if the Delhi cops will book Poonawalla for offences related to drug use, transportation of narcotics, etc., under the NDPS Act.
