MUMBAI:  Ad filmmaker and creative director Jude Fernandes, a resident of Khar-Danda in Mumbai blasted Bigg Boss contestant  MC Stan for his derogatory and demeaning remarks against residents of the locality.

Several video clips of MC Stan speaking derogatorily about residents of the Khar-Danda in the Khar West area of suburban Mumbai, with demeaning statements are doing the rounds on social media and YouTube, which has infuriated the residents, most of them a mix of Maharashtrians and Catholics as well as the Koli fishing community who are the original inhabitants of Mumbai.

According to Jude Fernandes, MC Stan referred to residents of Khar-Danda as “fakirs” and “tapporis” and called them unemployed and useless. “All the residents of Khar-Danda are really pissed off and since there are several youth groups in the area, all the youth are infuriated.”

“The Khar-Danda youth had planned to storm the sets of Bigg Boss season 16 and drag out MC Stan and give him a sound thrashing for calling them “fakirs” and “tapporis” but the elders intervened and we have decided to file a police complaint against MC Stan. Even Bigg Boss should not telecast such racially disturbing statements. It is wrong and can create a law and order situation,” Fernandes said, adding that the bhais of Mumbai reside in Khar-Danda and if MC Stan and Bigg Boss does not apologize for these racially disturbing comments, they will take the law into their own hands.

Residents plan public protest

The residents and various youth groups have planned a public protest against MC Stan, Bigg Boss and Colors Tv. “Since it is Christmas and the New Year festive season, we do not want to spoil the festive spirit and have postponed the protest, which will be held later this week, Fernandes informed.
