Actor Madhuri Sangita Patil initiates clean up drives on Mumbai’s beaches post Ganesh festival

MUMBAI: 20-year-old Marathi actress Madhuri Sangita Patil who is presently based in Mumbai along with a group of friends has initiated a mega clean up drive on 4 of Mumbai’s beaches – Versova, Madh, Dadar and Juhu.

According to Madhuri who is a fitness enthusiast, she was pained at the sight of the beaches post the Ganesh festival. There was so much garbage and dirt all around and the beautiful beaches were an eyesore, she said.

“We decided to collect all the flowers and other waste strewn on the beaches and clean them up. Accordingly for the last 8 to 10 days we have been working in groups of 4 to clean up four beaches in Mumbai – Dadar, Juhu, Versova and Madh.

Patil had undertaken a similar cleanliness drive on the Versova beach in suburban Mumbai, clearing up and collecting wrappers, plastic packets, rags, bottles and other garbage on the beach front during the month of July.
