Truth behind Puneeth Rajkumar’s death: reasons and cause for actor’s tragic demise, how did Puneeth Rajkumar die?
BENGALURU: According to sources, the sudden and massive heart attack that caused the death of Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar did not happen overnight, but was a catastrophe waiting to happen.
Rajkumar was experiencing moderate to severe chest pain and discomfort for nearly a week, particularly while exercising, but chose to ignore it and did not consult medical experts. ALSO READ: Raju Srivastava undergoes angioplasty after suffering cardiac arrest while working out
He presumed the chest pain and discomfort was part of his exercise routine and continued his workouts without any break. He used to workout for two hours at a stretch, which is not advisable for everyone, particularly at his age.
He was also consuming protein powders and supplements and sources say he took certain medication or injections to burn fat more quickly to get a leaner look.

While it is not exactly known what health supplements Puneeth Rajkumar was taking, there is a possibility that the products were either expired or spurious and not fit for consumption.
Another theory pointed out by sources close to the deceased actor seem to suggest that Rajkumar was consuming 3 to 4 cans of a popular energy drink every day, which caused his cardiovascular system to get overworked and give way. There was a lot of strain on his arteries and veins, say sports medicine experts, familiar with similar situations.
Yet another source pointed out that the actor was consuming protein drinks, powders and shots that caused clotting of the blood in the veins, ultimately leading to the massive heart attack.
Vikram Hospital, Bengaluru, where the Power Star breathed his last, issued a statement on Puneeth Rajkumar’s death. The hospital said, “Mr Puneet Rajkumar, aged 46 years, was brought to Vikram Hospital on 29/10/21 with diagnosis of heart attack with an ECG done by a family doctor at a private clinic. At the time of arrival to the emergency, the patient was non-responsive and was in cardiac asystole, meaning no heartbeat or heart activity. Such a medical situation is also known as flatline. Immediate advanced cardiac life support measures were initiated for resuscitation of Rajkumar. In spite of prolonged advanced and aggressive measures, the patient continued to be non-responsive and asystolic, with no chance of revival. The panel of medical experts extended all efforts to save him. He was declared dead at 2.30 pm on 29.10.2021. Actually, Rajkumar had passed away even before he was brought to the hospital.”
Medically speaking, Rajkumar should have been immediately rushed to a full-fledged hospital with emergency cardiac experts and facilities directly from the gym. The time lost in taking him from the gym to the private clinic and performing ECG scan there and then taking him to Vikram Hospital possibly resulted in his death, cutting off any and every chance of resuscitation and revival.
His family has denied that Rajkumar took any steroids or drugs for body-building. However, a source at the gym where Rajkumar worked out said that he could have consumed some health supplements like AMPS or Adenosine Monophosphate or even steroids to loose weight and burn fat rapidly, which could be indirectly responsible for the massive heart attack.
