Rival Mumbai Producers Behind Police Action Against OTTs, Adult Content Creators

MUMBAI: In a startling exposure, IndyaTv has learnt that two rival producers – one male and one female were the ‘source’ behind the police action in Mumbai against OTT apps and adult content creators like Gehana Vasisth, Sherlyn Chopra and Poonam Pandey.

The rival producers who run their own OTT content and production houses in Mumbai were upset because they were facing huge losses due to the very aggressive online promotions by OTT App Nuefliks and the extra-bold content offered by the XXX app Hothits.

They ran similar Apps but offered slightly tame content which did not match up to that offered by Nuefliks and Hothits as a result of which viewership took a huge hit.

Their subscriber base dwindled around September-October 2020, even as online OTT viewership in India was growing by leaps and bounds, and they began to face financial losses, so they put their heads together in an attempt to take on and disable the competition.

They teamed up and created a dossier on the content creators, models and co-ordinators who were working for Nuefliks and Hotshots and then tipped off the Mumbai police, who investigated the same and then laid a trap, managing to nab Hothits producer Rowa Khan alias Yasmeen Khan red-handed at the Green Park bungalow at Madh Island in suburban Mumbai while shooting content for her App.

The male and female duo of rival producers even approached some female ‘actors’ to file complaints against the other producers.

Unfortunately for Rowa Khan and Gehana Vasisht, both used the Green Park bungalow location at Madh Island very frequently to shoot most of their clips and the cops were able to get all the dope on them from the caretakers.

The police had hired the services of two female “actors” who were used as decoys to ‘trap’ the producers and content creators.

What followed was a massive crackdown against the adult content creators in Mumbai, resulting in the arrest of several persons including the Vian Industries Ltd-run HotShots App fronted by Umesh Kamat and Tv actress Gehana Vasisth.
