Rahul Mahajan’s Wealth, Income And Net Worth: Is Rahul Worth Rs 4000 Crore?
It’s not just his affairs and relationships that Rahul Mahajan is known for.
He is also famous for his net worth and wealth.
Tv actress Gehana Vasisth has alleged that Rahul Mahajan has got over Rs 2000 crore of wealth in property, shares, stocks, bonds and other assets. In fact, Gehana says that Rahul cannot count his own money!
So how much is Rahul Mahajan really worth?
According to sources Rahul Mahajan is worth nearly Rs 4000 crore and most of it was inherited.
In fact, a company in which Rahul Mahajan was a sleeping partner in – India Online Network Ltd – got about Rs 500 crore investment from one of the biggest industrial houses in India between 1999 and 2003.
The same company which was into the ISP (Internet Service Provider) business was listed on The Stock Exchange, Mumbai and was oversubscribed many times over.
It also took a loan of Rs 20 crore from the IDBI Bank at that time, which ended up in controversy in the year 2003 as was reported by The Asian Age.
Mahajan was running a production house and did Tv serials for Doordarshan. There were allegations that his company owed Doordarshan Rs 15 crore, but company officials have denied all these claims.
Talking about his expenses, Rahul Mahajan had said that reality shows are helping him manage his expenses.
The 39-year-old, son of late politician Pramod Mahajan, was a participant on the dance based show ‘Nach Baliye’ with wife Dimpy Ganguly.
His uncle Pravin Mahajan – who shot his father in a fit of mad rage had claimed (according to an Economic Times article) that Sr Mahajan was worth more than Rs 20 Billion, but he never shared his money with him.
Rahul had said these reality shows have always come to him as a life-saver. “I have a very different career in TV. I think nobody has ever got so many opportunities. I became popular with ‘Bigg Boss’, got my life partner without spending a single penny from my pocket.
“Went to honeymoon when I was judging ‘Comedy Circus’ and now Dimpy and I are doing ‘Nach Baliye’, he had said in an interview to PTI.
So, I can say that my expenses are being managed by reality shows,” Rahul said.
“I was a pilot before and have never tried to dance. When I got the opportunity to be a part of ‘Nach Baliye’ and told my mother about it, she started to laugh. She said I have been doing everything which nobody in my family has ever done.
Asked whether he would like to follow his late father’s footsteps and join politics, Rahul said, “No, I don’t feel like. It’s something which I will never do.”
He has refused to join politics, though his sister Poonam Mahajan is a senior member of the National BJP – the ruling party at the Centre in India. He has said he “hates politics”.
