Is Rahul Mahajan Worth Rs 4000 Crore? How Rich Is Rahul Mahajan? How Much Money Does Bigg Boss 14’s Rahul Mahajan Have?
Is Rahul Mahajan really worth Rs 4000 crore? Well that’s a question, the answer of which nobody knows, not even Rahul Mahajan.
The reason being that Rahul Mahajan’s late father the former Union Minister Pramod Mahajan died very suddenly when nobody expected it.
Then Bibek Biman Maitra who was Pramod Mahajan’s secretary, also passed away very suddenly due to drug abuse.
The autopsy was conducted by a medical board headed by Prof T. D Dogra and the report released by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences
Sr Mahajan was the fund-manager and chief collector of the BJP in the earlier days, prior to the rise of the Narendra Modi-Amit Shah team.
Bibek was known for his lavish lifestyle and the parties he attended, but only after his death was this reported in the media. He remained a bachelor throughout his life. Maitra was Mahajan’s close confidante and used to handle all his financial matters. ALSO READ: Late South star Puneeth Rajkumar to be awarded Karnataka Ratna
Even Sr Mahajan didn’t know how much money he really had, because all his investments were handled by Bibek and two other chartered accountants, including Rahul Mahajan’s business partner in Mumbai.
Sources say Bibek had purchased or invested in a 5-star hotel in London and another in Switzerland, but nobody can confirm the same. These investments were made with Sr Mahajan’s money, which was “gifted” to him by various Indian corporates.
There were investments made in Airlines, IT companies, Tv channels and hotels, but the truth is all hidden because of Bibek’s sudden death.
It is said that Bibek was addicted to cocaine in the months before his death and was spending Rs 2 lakh per day on cocaine, all with Sr Mahajan’s money, which only he knew about. But again this is gossip and cannot be confirmed.
According to a Hindustan Times article, at the June 1, 2006 party at the late Pramod Mahajan’s residence, champagne and cocaine were ordered.
The cocaine came mixed with heroin and other chemicals. Rahul Mahajan and Vivek Moitra snorted the powder without any idea about its contents and both fell unconscious. A male servant also used cocaine.
The CFSL in Moitra’s viscera report to the Delhi Police found traces of cocaine and heroin — cocaine, morphine, codeine, heroin and procaine in the kidney, spleen and liver; ethyl alcohol, cocaine, caffeine and heroin in the intestines. It was a heady cocktail consumed by the three.
He had consumed both cocaine and heroin.
Harish Sharma, Pramod Mahajan’s secretary, was arrested on the charge of destruction of evidence.
Ganesh, a driver working at Pramod Mahajan’s 7 Safdarjung Road residence, too also arrested in this case.
Traces of cocaine were found in Rahul Mahajan’s urine samples while many white-coloured powder pouches handed over to the CFSL were found to contain heroin.
Traces of heroin were found in the blood test of Rahul who was hospitalised for several days.
The media used to pronounce Bibek Maitra’s name as Vivek Moitra. He always insisted that his name be pronounced as Bibek.
It’s not just his affairs and relationships that Rahul Mahajan is known for. There is a rumor that India’s biggest industrial house and India’s richest man paid Rahul Mahajan’s company (in which he was a sleeping partner) Rs 500 crore. But there is no proof of the same.
This matter became a big scandal and it was widely reported in the year 2003 by the Asian Age newspaper.
Rahul is also famous for his net worth and wealth and his extracurricular activities and party life and his daily expenses.
Tv actress Gehana Vasisth has alleged that Rahul Mahajan has got over Rs 2000 crore of wealth in property, shares, stocks, bonds and other assets. In fact, Gehana says that Rahul cannot count his own money!
These figures were quoted by the Economic Times in an article, years ago.
So how much is Rahul Mahajan really worth?
According to sources Rahul Mahajan is worth nearly Rs 4000 crore and most of it was inherited.
In fact, a company in which Rahul Mahajan was a sleeping partner in – India Online Network Ltd – got about Rs 500 crore investment from one of the biggest industrial houses in India between 1999 and 2003.
The same company which was into the ISP (Internet Service Provider) business was listed on The Stock Exchange, Mumbai and was oversubscribed many times over.
It also took a loan of Rs 20 crore from the IDBI Bank at that time, which ended up in controversy in the year 2003.
Mahajan was running a production house and did Tv serials for Doordarshan. There were allegations that his company owed Doordarshan Rs 15 crore, but company officials have denied all these claims.
Talking about his expenses, Rahul Mahajan had said that reality shows are helping him manage his expenses.
The 45-year-old, son of late politician Pramod Mahajan, was a participant on the dance based show ‘Nach Baliye’ with wife Dimpy Ganguly.
His uncle Pravin Mahajan – who shot his father in a fit of mad rage had claimed (according to an Economic Times article) that Sr Mahajan was worth more than Rs 20 Billion, but he never shared his money with him.
Rahul had said these reality shows have always come to him as a life-saver. “I have a very different career in TV. I think nobody has ever got so many opportunities. I became popular with ‘Bigg Boss’, got my life partner without spending a single penny from my pocket.
“Went to honeymoon when I was judging ‘Comedy Circus’ and now Dimpy and I are doing ‘Nach Baliye’, he had said in an interview to PTI.
So, I can say that my expenses are being managed by reality shows,” Rahul said.
“I was a pilot before and have never tried to dance. When I got the opportunity to be a part of ‘Nach Baliye’ and told my mother about it, she started to laugh. She said I have been doing everything which nobody in my family has ever done.
Asked whether he would like to follow his late father’s footsteps and join politics, Rahul said, “No, I don’t feel like. It’s something which I will never do.”
He has refused to join politics, though his sister Poonam Mahajan is a senior member of the National BJP – the ruling party at the Centre in India. He has said he “hates politics”.
