If Aryan Khan can have sex (Navya Nanda scandal), he is not a kid, screams Ishika Borah

MUMBAI: Congratulating the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and its zonal director Sameer Wankhede for taking a strong stand against the Cruise ship drugs bust matter and not bowing down to pressure, Mumbai-based model and actress who has been part of Bollywood for the last 12 to 13 years said, “If Aryan Khan can date a woman and have sex with her – she was referring to the Navya Nanda scandal where images of Aryan and Amitabh Bachchan’s grand daughter Navya Nanda’s raunchy pictures leaked and went viral, then he is old enough to be charged for his offense of doing drugs,” Ishika said.

Ishika has demanded stringent action against all those who were involved in the drugs case. “It’s not just Aryan Khan, all those who were involved must be tried in court and punished accordingly,” she said.

Ishika also derided the fact that Aryan Khan and the others arrested in the cruise ship raid were getting special treatment by the courts, while thousands of other Indians are languishing in jails for months, for petty crimes like theft or minor assault. “Their bail applications and appeals do not come up for months in the Sessions court and High Court, but here these rich kids get hearings within 3 to 4 days. This is a gross miscarriage of justice,” she claimed.

Meanwhile, Aryan Khan’s lawyer claimed he was wrongfully arrested though there was “no consumption or possession of drugs” and cases involving such small quantities of drug called for rehab rather than jail, former Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi argued on Tuesday in Bombay High Court.

Labelled “Accused No 1” in the case, he has been in jail since October 8. He was arrested after drug raids on a cruise ship party on October 2 by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

Mukul Rohatgi argued that the case against Aryan Khan was based on old WhatsApp chats that were “irrelevant” and had nothing to do with the cruise. There was no recovery, no consumption and therefore “no need to arrest” him, said the senior lawyer.

“These are young boys. They can be sent to rehab and they need not undergo trial. It had come in some newspaper that the social ministry was mentioning about reform. If you possess and consume a small quantity and are willing to go to rehab, you are not liable for prosecution,” Rohatgi said in court.

Aryan Khan is “23 years old” and has completed his studies in California, said the lawyer. “Accused 1 was not a customer. He did not buy a ticket. He was invited to the cruise as a special guest… There is no consumption, no possession… Why this boy has been sent to 20 days in jail?” – Rohatgi questioned.

“Since there is no recovery and no consumption I submit I am wrongly arrested,” Rohatgi said, adding that in the US and some parts of the world, cannabis is legal.

He also said the case had attracted the public and media gaze because of Aryan’s parents Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan.
