PANAJI: Marcaim MLA and former PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar wondered what justice can former CM Luizinho Faleiro give Goans at the age of 70. “It’s time for him to now retire from politics and enjoy his retirement years,” Dhavalikar said.

Speaking about the entry of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) and their decision to contest a sizable number of seats during the Goa State Assembly polls, he said it will have a major impact on the political scenario in Goa.

Elections will be fought on the basis of money power and the actual popularity of the candidate in the constituency will matter less. If the candidate can spend, he could be a possible winner, Dhavalikar said.

The Congress and the BJP started the trend of poaching MLAs from regional parties and now the AAP and the TMC are doing the same to them. The Congress first split MLAs from the MGP and the BJP followed suit by buying in bulk, he retorted.

He also criticized the online education policy of the State Government claiming that a huge percentage of Goan students are deprived of education as the government has failed to provide them internet connections and mobile phones.
