Increase in rainfall likely in Goa from Sept 21: Yellow Alert issued

PANAJI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Goa Regional Centre has warned of a likelihood of an increase in rainfall in the State from September 21.

The IMD has issued a yellow warning on the day.

“Strengthening of the Westerly North-westerly winds over the west coast is very likely from around 21st September. Compared to the rainfall in the past 2-3 days, an increase in rainfall over North and South Goa districts is likely from 21st,” an IMD spokesperson said.

Heavy rainfall (rainfall>6.4cm in 24 hrs) is very likely at a few isolated places over both districts on the 21st.
