Nunes is also wanted by the Anjuna police station as he has violated the terms of bail granted to him by a Goa court in the Sonali Phogat murder case.
Nunes was arrested by the Goa police after politician and actor Sonali Phogat passed away apparently due to a drug overdose. Her associates and Phogat had visited the restaurant owned by Nunes and consumed drugs at the restaurant.
Unused drugs were found in the toilet of the Curlies restaurant and a separate NDPS (drugs) case was registered by the Goa police, in addition to the murder case against Phogat’s PA Sudhir Sangwan and his associate Sukhwinder Singh.
Nunes was granted bail by a Goa court, but was required to attend the Anjuna police station regularly and mark his attendance.
Fearing arrest by the Hyderabad police, Nunes first claimed he was Covid positive and submitted a fake Covid certificate, prompting the cops to register one more FIR for forging a legal document.
Presently in related matters, Nunes is facing four cases – one by the Hyderabad police and three at the Anjuna police station.
