PANAJI: BJP MLA from Pernem in North Goa, Manohar ‘Babu” Ajgaonkar is all set to quit the BJP as he may be denied the ticket, sources said.

The BJP is all set to induct the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party’s (MGP) Pravin Arlekar and it is quite possible that Arlekar may be given the ticket.

Speaking to media persons, Ajgaonkar said: “The BJP in Goa used me. I worked hard for the party and now I am being sidelined.”

He also said he has no information about getting the ticket in the forthcoming Assembly polls likely to be held next month.

Referring to the BJP state president Sadanand Tanawade, Ajgaonkar said, “Tanavade used to say that Arlekar was selling drugs and hashish, but now who is welcoming him in the party,” he asked?

The Deputy Chief Minister appealed to the voters to give befitting answer to the injustice being done to them by the BJP

“Jobs created by the Mopa Airport, AYUSH Hospital and Cricket Stadium projects are now attracting the attention of aspiring candidates like Alamya. From now on, only Pednekar will get jobs from this project and we will never remain silent if injustice is done to the youth in our constituency,” warned Deputy Chief Minister Babu Ajgaonkar.

BJP District Member Seema Khadpe said that Deputy Chief Minister Babu Ajgaonkar has spent crores of rupees for the development of the Mopa Panchayat area and “people should unite to bring back Ajgoankar in Pernem”.

Ajgaonkar hasn’t been invited for Arlekar’s induction function, a fact that hasn’t gone down well with him.

Arlekar is the second MGP probable to join the BJP after MGP’s Mayem candidate Pramendra Shet quit the party.
