Goa: After Faleiro and Naik, Adv Antonio Clovis da Costa joins TMC, will contest from Velim on TMC ticket

MARGAO: A day after former Goa CM and Navelim Congress MLA Luizinho Faleiro resigned from the party as well as the Navelim MLA (membership of the House), to join the Mamata Banerjee-led All India Trinamool Congress party (AITC or TMC), Adv Antonio Clovis da Costa from South Goa was also part of the group along with ex-Congressmen Vijay Pai and Yatish Naik and 3 others who will join the TMC on Wednesday.

Adv Antonio Clovis da Costa who will also be joining the TMC in a function at Kolkata today in the presence of Mamata Banerjee, will be the TMC candidate from Velim constituency for the forthcoming assembly polls next year.

However sources said Costa does not hold much clout in Velim and may have to work very hard to save his deposit as there are veterans from the Congress and BJP who are in the fray in the Catholic-dominated constituency who have much more experience in fighting elections in the area and winning.
