NAVELIM, GOA: Coming down very strongly on the Navelim MLA and presently Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Luizinho Faleiro, Aam Aadmi Party leader Pratima Coutinho said Faleiro who has been an MLA for several years now, cannot solve the garbage collection and disposal problem in his own constituency.

“They talk about a new dawn, which is great. But Faleiro should first concentrate on his own constituency and his voters who have voted him to power all these years. He cannot solve a problem in his own backyard and is talking about new dawns and new beginnings,” Coutinho quipped.

Displaying video footage of heaps of garbage strewn about the road sides of Navelim, Coutinho squarely blamed TMC leader Faleiro for his inability to solve the problem and serve his voters.

Coutinho visited the areas of Nagmodem, Davorlim and the Housing Board Rumdamol areas of Navelim constituency and pointed out to the mounds of stinking garbage lying about on the sides of the road. “Before trying to bring in a new dawn in the State of Goa, Faleiro and his party should organize a garbage clean-up drive in his own constituency,” Coutinho claimed.

“A senior leader like Faleiro should take responsibility. If he is unable to organize the collection and disposal of garbage in his own constituency, he must stop talking about other big things. The TMC has got in thousands of paid workers, brought in from other states to Goa for campaigning. Instead of mere talks, they should get some people to clean up the garbage or undertake garbage clearance drives in the TMC Rajya Sabha MP’s constituency. Or the country will laugh at Goa and say the TMC Rajya Sabha MP cannot keep his own constituency and backyard clean, which is strewn with filth and garbage,” she claimed, adding that the “TMC Goa in charge Mahua Moitra who is camping in Goa, must visit Navelim and see the garbage for herself, before claiming to the able to contest polls in 40 constituencies.”
