Split in Cumbharjua Congress Block, Samir Volvoikar To Join TMC

PANAJI: The Cumbharjua Congress Block in Tiswadi taluka has split up, say sources familiar with the development and Samir Volvoikar and a few others will be joining the All India Trinamool Congress party on Monday, when Mamata Banerjee will be visiting the coastal state.

Benaulim Nationalist Congress Party MLA Churchill Alemao and his daughter Valanka Alemao will also be joining the TMC in the presence of Mamata Banerjee, something which we had predicted two months earlier.

Valanka will contest from Navelim and the Varca strongman Churchill Alemao will contest from Benaulim and the tickets for the two Catholic-dominated constituencies have already been confirmed by Mamata Banerjee herself, said sources close to Churchill.
