Mickky Pacheco ready to join TMC if given two tickets – Benaulim and Nuvem
MARGAO: Sources claim that flamboyant former MLA Mickky Pacheco who recently joined the Congress in Goa has been approached by representatives of the I-PAC, Prashant Kishor’s lobbying agency and other members of the TMC who are camping in Goa for the last two weeks.
Speaking to some media persons in South Goa, Pacheco said he did not mind joining the Trinamool Congress if they decide to contest the Assembly Polls in Goa.
Pacheco is expecting two tickets from the TMC for Benaulim and Nuvem in lieu of switching sides.
Pacheco was expecting to be made the Working President of the Congress Party and even announced it in the media through proxy, but was sidelined by the Congress High Command.
According to a Herald report, Pacheco had gone to the extent of saying that he could contest from either Benaulim or Nuvem constituencies, ostensibly on a Congress ticket.
That was followed by him saying he was in “close touch” with the Congress High Command. “I am directly in touch with the Congress high command. I have given my 16-page independent report to the Congress leadership on how to rebuild the party in Goa ahead of the 2022 Assembly elections,” he had said.
After all these “wild statements” Pacheco was cut down to size by the High Command when his name did not figure on any of the list of committees and has been out of sight for the last couple of weeks.
He is still expecting the ticket for the Benaulim constituency, but is keeping a low profile since the last two or three weeks.
